Frank Rizzo I did not particulary like.... but he was FAR less toxic than the incompetent Wilson "bomb the city" Goode and the odious John Street. I'd take Frank Rizzo as a mayor over Sharpe James (Newark), Kwame Fitzpatrick (Detroit), Marion Barry (Washington), Kenneth Gibson (Newark)... ANY DAY, at any time, and on any planet. Rizzo may have been rough, but he was no crook... unlike all of the above who have nothing but the "courage of their convictions".. or guilty pleas... to explain to their particular dieties after shuffling off this mortal coil. One other thing... I'd rate Rizzo as a mayor over Wilson "bombed his own City Goode (Philadelphia), Ray "send help" Nagin (New Orleans), and David "I haven't committed a crime. What I did was fail to comply with the law" Dinkins (New York). Am I noticing a trend here. No it must be someone else's fault for the moral, ethical and compeence failures of the above. It ALWAYS is someone elses fault. I still don't think all that much of Rizzo as a Mayor. I DO wonder what the motives were of this particular hatchet throwing author to pick Rizzo as his target.
